FAQ

What is online food delivery photography?

Online food delivery photography involves capturing high-quality images of a food menu specifically for delivery platforms like Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Just Eat, Food Hub and more. The images are aimed at accurately representing the menu dishes and enticing customers to order.

Why is food photography important for delivery services?

High-quality images are crucial in a competitive online marketplace. They help convey the quality and appeal of your dishes, increasing the likelihood of customer orders.

How do you ensure the food looks great in delivery photos?

I use food styling techniques and professional lighting to create visually representative images that highlight the freshness of your menu items.

Can I put my business branding in the photography?

This is all dependant on the guidelines of the delivery app you are going to upload to. Sometimes you can place items on branded paper/napkins or branded consumables.

What format do you provide the final images in?

Again, this is dependant on the delivery app you are looking to upload the images to. Typically, the file format most accepted is JPEG.

Other considerations are file size, aspect ratio and total dimensions for the ordering platform, which will all be discussed before delivery.

How many dishes can you shoot in a session?

Within a 3-hour session, you can expect to capture anywhere between 20-50 dishes. This is based on a new dish every 3-8 minutes.

I tend to recommend shooting the dishes in order as they appear on your menu to avoid missing anything out.

With around 20-30 minutes left of the shoot, we'll look to capture a header image that often contains a range of dishes.

How much space do you need for the shoot?

I can often work in small spaces, but ideally a space around 2-3 square meters with a table will be plenty.

Oh, and don't worry about plug sockets. Whilst they're great to have, all my equipment run off batteries allowing me to work anywhere.

Can we prepare the dishes in advance?

Whilst all the prep for the dishes can be done in advance, the dishes themselves should be cooked fresh for the best results.

Do the images need to be shot on a white background?

Whilst this is dependant on the platform guidelines you're looking to upload to, I offer a range of backgrounds you can use. I tend to recommend either a natural textured background or a flat colour that ties in with your branding.
