FAQ

Why should I hire a professional food photographer?

A professional food photographer brings expertise in understanding lighting, composition, and styling that elevates your food images. These skills ensure that your dishes are presented in the most appealing way, helping to entice customers and enhance your brand image.

How does professional food photography impact my marketing?

High-quality images are essential for effective marketing. Stunning food photography can capture attention on social media, improve engagement, and drive sales. Consumers are more likely to purchase products that are visually appealing, making professional photography a worthwhile investment.

Can’t I just use my smartphone to take photos?

While smartphones can capture good images, they often lack the quality and nuance that a professional can provide. A skilled food photographer knows how to manipulate lighting, angles, and styling to create images that truly stand out and resonate with your audience.

What types of businesses benefit from food photography?

From food manufactures and retailers to food brands and restaurants. Any business that offers food can benefit from professional photography. High-quality images help communicate your brand’s personality and the quality of your offerings.

How do I prepare for a food photography shoot?

Preparing for a shoot involves discussing your vision, selecting dishes to feature, and considering styling options. I can help guide you through this process to ensure that we capture your food in the best light.

What can I expect after the shoot?

After the shoot, you’ll receive a selection of edited images that can be used across various platforms—websites, social media, marketing materials, and more. Usual processing time is 3 working days from completing the shoot through to image delivery.

Do you have your own space to shoot?

If you're after commercial food photography or product food photography, I can work remotely shooting in my own studio. There are occasions where shooting on location has its benefits which can include direct feedback on shots and help from development chefs with the cooking of any food ahead of the shoot.

Restaurant photography is predominantly completed on-site with the head chef preparing the dishes during the session. Online food delivery photography is also completed on site with the same process but shot on a solid background.
